This is a good TV for the price, though there are a couple of minor things about the picture quality that bothered me and hence made me return it for the TCL 6 Series version afterward. However if you are just a casual TV watcher and just want a big TV on a budget, this could be the one for you.The buyer should be aware of the following when buying this TCL 4 Series TV:1) Blacks are not totally black. Because of the lack of “local dimming”, scenes with black are actually a very, very dark grey instead due to the lighting behind the black pixels.2) The HDR10 content in Disney+ movies is slightly dark. However, there is a way to fix this by downloading the Roku app and setting the Gamma to 1.8.3) The colour gamut in HDR content is a bit lacking and looks dull. This can be adjusted to an extent in the menus and in the Roku app, but it was a minor letdown to me. I feel the 6 Series is much better in this regard but of course you have to pay more. In addition, the TV lacks support for the superior HDR Dolby Vision, as it only supports HDR10.4) For its size, this TV is not very heavy. The frame is plastic which makes it noticeably lighter than the 6 series which has a more solid, metallic build. This is good when you want to carry the TV in and out of the car or mount it onto a wall.Anyways, if you are just looking for a cheap TV that does its job, none of the above are dealbreakers. I mean, my wife was totally fine with this TCL despite what I thought about it. It’s actually a fine TV. However, if you want the best possible TV for the lowest price then possibly the TCL 6 Series (2018 edition) is your best bet.

I have to say, I absolutely love this tv. I spent a lot of time shopping around online and reading reviews, and decided a smart tv would be best to suit my needs for an upgraded tv.

This TCL Roku tv checks all the boxes: easy to navigate, clear and vibrant 4k UHD picture quality, nice sound and good price.

Some complained about the simple remote but I like it. Sure, it would be nice if the 4 main buttons could be programmed for the apps I use most, but it isn't a big deal. I use the menu mostly anyway. I also have the app on my phone so I can use my phone to control the tv if I've misplaced the remote or moved from the couch to the chair and don't feel like getting up to get my remote.

I love all of the available apps I can load onto this. I have Netflix Crave and Prime accounts, plus the basic Roku and a few other free streaming apps. All of my needs are met, and it's all super easy to load and navigate.

I wish I thought of this when shopping for a new tv for my aging parents as this is so easy they could've easily figured out how to work it without the need of other devices to stream their Netflix.

This tv is exactly what I needed, especially now during the Covid-19 pandemic where I'm stuck at home and watching a lot of television shows and movies.

I haven't had any picture or sound issues that some reviewers mentioned. Is it theatre style quality? Of course not, but it's more than generous and suitable for my needs. I highly recommend this tv to anyone looking for a nice 50" smart tv that doesn't take hours to figure out how to use!

So far so good with this TV. It comes with great software, which links straight to Roku's website and gets updated with new free and pay streaming services that you can subscribe to. Setup was very easy. I can't really give a fair review of the picture, mainly because finding any stations or vids that are true 4K is not common yet. When I get a good vid though, the screen is quite vivid. Fast moving stuff like hockey, football etc. doesn't go bitmap or blurry, so the processor handles things well. The screen measures 64" diagonally, not 65". Not sure if that's a cheat or not. The last set I had was an expensive Sharp 70" which only lasted 5 years. I was absolutely disappointed and won't buy the brand again. I decided to go with ROKU because it is low priced and the loss would be less if it died. I'm delighted that ROKU supplies service and warranty numbers to call in the event of failure. I had a 40 year old RCA console TV from 1975 that I threw out a couple of years ago - still working fine. If I get 10 out of this Roku I will be happy. As a TV the ROKU does not disappoint, especially for the average viewer. I'm not a gamer so I can't say how well it performs that way. I imagine it's pretty good on most games but super-fussy types might want to blow an extra $2000 for a faster processor set. For me the jump in price from 65" to 75" was just not going to happen. It's a great TV. You won't be sorry if you buy it.

I took a chance on a brand I'd never used before, and with an OS I was barely familiar with. So far, so good!

Packaging was top notch. Arrows tell you which end faces out, and the box lifts off the TV instead of having to lift it out of the box.

The Roku set up is extremely simple, yet full of features. It's an operating system you can be confident in using for many years since it isn't just made for TVs. There's so much available free content that you cannot get on other smart TVs that your don't even need a cable subscription.

The color is fantastic, and while it isn't as good as some far more expensive models, it is better than everything else in its price range.

The inputs are very conveniently placed on the side, so wall mounting is not as painful as worth higher end models. In fact, it was very, very easy to connect. You can also sign custom names to the inputs. That means anyone who gets confused by newer technology can use this with ease and comfort.

Add to all that the attractive appearance of this tv, the minimal, yet surprisingly functional remote control, and the terrific mobile app options, and you have a real winner of a tv.

I was apprehensive about buying this TV, but I'm very happy I took the chance. If you're looking for something like this, I highly recommend TCL. When it comes time to replace my next TV, this will probably be the brand I go with.
