Lekiu Importing is one of the top five distributors of ethnic and Asian food consumer packaged goods in Canada.  Rich in history, the company was founded in 1946 and has grown tremendously.  We sell to over 1,000 retailers and have great relationships with our suppliers and customers.  Lekiu Importing is poised to grow even more for the foreseeable future.  That is where YOU come in.  We are in a need of a competent and customer-oriented Receptionist/Order Processing Clerk to join the Lekiu team. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and provide widespread support to visitors. Including directing truck driver to the proper loading bay duck.
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Act as the point of contact for external clients.
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail, parcel deliveries and fax.
  • Sent out parcel or letter as requested by office staff
  • Assist and provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email to customers
  • Maintain office security and controlling entry access (via Monitoring camera and log book)
  • Create and distribute emails, memos, letters, and forms to internal staff and external vendor/buyer.
  • Process purchase orders.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports and confirmation: such as creating monthly prices list, confirming PO and delivery date to buyer, and inform sales or buyer for any shortage item.
  • Develop, update and maintain filing system: such as office staff contact list, office/sales record, policies, procedures and promotion.
  • Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle product and service inquiries: such as inventory, price and promotion
  • Respond, resolve and re-direct (if necessary) promptly to vendor/buyer/customer’s inquiries, complaints and request.
  • Forward vendor’s and buyer’s request to the appropriate person in charge such as forms, promotions, applications to the appropriate person in charge
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments
  • Provide feedback to management on the efficiency of the customer/office service process
  • Ad hoc tasks

Skills & Experiences

  • Friendly, customer focused individual with previous administrative and accounting experience
  • An experienced receptionist/administration clerk with basic accounting knowledge
  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrate initiations in finding ways to improve productivity and possess the ability to work unsupervised and meet key deadlines
  • Energetic with a positive attitude team player
  • Punctual, courteous and reliable
  • Working knowledge on Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Fluent English
  • Knowledge in Cantonese / Mandarin is an asset
