Applied Biological Materials Inc., (ABM) is a rapidly growing Vancouver-based R&D biotech company whose products and services are pushing the frontiers of Life Sciences research worldwide. ABM is rapidly expanding and we are offering a Logistics Specialist position for a reliable, motivated and detail-oriented individual. If you are a confident teamworker with strong analytical skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills, we love to have you on board.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Plan, organize, co-ordinate, arrange, monitor the transportation and movement of goods;
• Arrange and organize container transportation of equipment
• Monitoring and updating shipment status;
• Plan, organize, arrange and oversee logistics for clients;
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide shipping information to clients;
• Prepare progress and other reports and co-ordinate activities with other supply-chain companies;
• Arrange for payment and insurances coverage of transportation, storage and any other related charges;
• Requisition supplies and materials;
• Ensure smooth operation of computer systems; Prepare and maintain reports on the progress of logistics using computerized system;
• Consult with clients after transaction to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support;
• Arrange for transport/shipping documentation and oversee the scheduling and dispatching of goods and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree is required
• At least 5 years of experience in the occupation is required
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Communicate professionally in all verbal and electronic communications
• Ability to effectively deal with multiple concurrent issues
• Attention to detail
• Teamworking skills
• Organization and time management
• Proficiency in computer technologies including the ability to work with office software
