Hiring-Air Ticketing Manager

At JBC Travel Canada Ltd., is looking for an Airline Ticketing Manager (Full-time) to join our team in our Richmond B.C. office. This position is best suited for an individual with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in airline ticketing management experiences.

The Air Ticketing Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the Air Ticketing department and all assigned responsibilities. He/she will manage the ticketing team and their workload as well as train and develop the team as required. Assist in strategic planning and marketing with managers for procure diversified based of business.

Responsibility

The Air Ticketing Manager will implement and manage departmental best practices including all ticketing administration processes as follows:

• Consultative and insightful for ticketing selling techniques & services;
• Develop and manage working procedures of the department;
• Produce JBC Travel Canada Ltd. tour flight add-on harts for all tours, based on agreed margins & on-sale timelines by liaising with managers to provide air considerations for new and existing tours;
• Monitor market fares versus air add-on charts and recommend changes as necessary from published fares, group fares, fare sales, web, low cost carriers, airline contracts and consolidators;
• Source and maintain relevant airline contracts direct from airlines and travel agencies;
• Liaise with Airlines or parties concerned or GDS in working out the most effective way to capture and lock-in new business;
• Monitor competitors and awareness of other tour operator air business models;
• Oversee quality control - ensure best practice is adopted to minimize air reservation errors;
• Provide support to Operations Team when required in relation on-tour air & ticketing issues and when required;
• Provide periodic air product training to Sales Department to minimize internal administrative errors and to ensure their communication with guests is as accurate as possible;
• Maintain all departmental accreditation documents to stay compliant;
• Assist in identifying potential market and product for business development and expansion;

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years ticketing operations management experience preferably in air ticketing environment;
• Strong experience working with Airlines or Travel Agency;
• Basic knowledge of GDS systems;
• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows applications;
• Strong knowledge and sales skills in promotion of tours and travel packages;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to meet assigned deadlines;
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to direct the actions of others
• A team player with the ability to work with a multitude of departments and staff members of all levels;
• Staff Management experience;
• Working knowledge of airline contracts;
• Experience in managing airline vendor relations;
• Above average Sabre skills, including creating manual and automated ticket exchanges and refunds, thorough knowledge of airline ticketing rules & regulations;
• Exceptional knowledge of airline contracts, group rules and ticketing procedures;
• GDS booking and ticketing procedures, and Web booking procedures;
• Fluent in written and spoken English;
• Knowing one other language will be an asset;

Wage: $30 per hour
