TITLE: Early Childhood Educator
SALARY: CAD$ 4500.00- 5500.00/month, depending on qualifications & experience + paid airfare + 6 week paid vacations/school holiday + working visa (Entry Visa Application)
FACILITY: Suzhou Regent International Preschool
LOCATION: Suzhou, China (About 20 minutes away from Shanghai by fast train)
STATUS: 12-month contract with option of renewal
EFFECTIVE DATE: July/August, 2021 – June, 2022
ARRIVAL: May/June 2021
DUTIES: Provides behaviour guidance and ongoing supervision of playroom, playground, group,
individual, and routine activities; builds and maintains responsive relationships with individual and groups of children in care. Observes and documents children’s development and the interests of each individual child and of the group. Ensures the overall health and safety of children enrolled in the program by maintaining a sanitary and safe environment and identifying children who are unwell. Selects age-appropriate materials for the age group; sets up both indoor and outdoor activities for children according to the weekly program plan. Plans and implements developmental appropriate curriculum for children between 18-months to 6 years old that is consistent with a play-based curriculum philosophy; arranges children’s play space to reflect the philosophy of the curriculum. Prepared to work collaboratively with Bilingual colleagues (i.e., Mandarin/English) to plan curriculum that reflects the bi-cultural, multilingual environment of the Regent International Preschool Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with families by communicating their children’s daily experiences by writing on children’s charts, daily/frequent dialogue, report cards and parent/teacher interviews; shows appreciation and respect for diverse family systems and practices. Demonstrates a professional approach; maintains currency in the curriculum methodology used at the centre/field of Early Childhood Development by participating in Professional development activities/program development meetings. Performs other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Early Childhood Education or related major. Proven ability to design a curriculum. Excellent written and oral English communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; exceptional observation and reporting skills. Time management skills
Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
Excellent problem solving, flexibility and human relations skills to work in an International setting with varied philosophies, practices and adjusting to a new environment.
