Maple Gateway (www.lifeca.com) is a global leader in the field of immigration, we have an immediate opening for a full-time position of Translator (Chinese to English) in our Case Processing Department. This position will work closely with our Immigration Case Manager and Specialists on a wide range of documents related to Canadian immigration matters, including LMIA, PNP, family sponsorship, etc. The Translator will mainly assist the supervisor with writing letters, checking materials, and proofreading documents.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate essays, letters, emails, and other pieces of writing from Chinese to English.

Proofread and edit English documents; correct grammar mistakes and improve on sentence structures.

2. Confirm with supervisor to ensure the English translation reflects the purpose and intent of the writer. Maintain the persuasive, narrative and professional tone of the original document.

3. Conduct research on relevant subject matter to address terminological problems and to ensure correct context.

4. Validate context and quality of translations; provide revisions as required.

5. Prepare, organize and file written materials into proper folders.

6. Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Full professional written and verbal proficiency in English and Mandarin required

2. Excellent English grammar skills is a must

3. Detail-oriented

4. Experience in translation is preferred

5. Ability to work independently

6. We are very welcome for new graduates.
