Purchasing Assistant

We are looking for a purchaser to join our growing team. Responsibilities include cost calculations, price negotiations, quality control, and inventory management. This position will offer opportunities for career growth and supply management skills development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain proper inventory level and prepare cost calculations.

• Negotiate payment terms and price with vendors.

• Work with vendor to ensure product availability and accurate delivery scheduling.

• Be familiar with the company’s product and related knowledge.

• Respond to product inquiries from other departments.

• Place and verify purchase order to meet cut-off schedule.

• Research new products and monitor product pricing from competitors.

• Maintain strong relationships with vendors.

• Check new inventory for quality control.

• Generate inventory report and report to Purchasing Manager.

• Work with sales department to keep up-to-date on the trends and R&D department on product issues when making buying decisions.

• Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

• Post-Secondary education in business, sales, or marketing is an asset.

• Qualified candidate without direct experience is encouraged to apply.

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Experience in ERP System is an Asset.

• Fluent in English. Cantonese and Mandarin is an asset.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, organization and communication skills.

• Willingness to learn and attention to detail is a must.

• Demonstrate professionalism and ensure information remains confidential.

• Work under flexible hours.

• Weight handling: Up to 14 kg (30 lbs).
