Job description
Located in beautiful British Columbia of Canada, Baywest Manufacturing Inc is one of
the large manufacturers of premium machined log & timber home packages, pre-framed
panels, as well as natural high thermal efficiency wall panels in Canada and the United
States.
Baywest is looking for an innovative, cutting-edge and dependable 3D Designer /Drafting
Technologist to join our design team.

Duties and responsibilities
Utilize Cadwork and Javelin to build detailed and accurate 3D models according
to design documents and projects;
Translate design information from our architect and engineering team into 3D
models;
Candidates will liaise with our internal project management / engineering teams
and external design teams (Architect and Engineer) to ensure clarity and
accuracy;
Ensure quality control by coordinating with our manufacturing and site erection
crews to reinforce accuracy, buildability and erectility;
Deliver excellent customer service with great satisfaction;
Develop and cultivate good relationship with customers; and
Grow with company literature and stay up to date on product features and
solutions

Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 1-5 years AutoCAD, Cadwork, Javelin or 3D modeling
experience (3D detailing experience is an asset).

Skills:
(1) Proficiency with Cadwork and Javelin and Building Information Modeling
(BIM); Completion of Cadwork and BIM training certification preferred;
(2) Innovative, proactive and highly responsible individual who works well in a
team environment; and
(3) High attention to detail and fastidious work habits.

Knowledge:
Vancouver office

(1) Knowledge of all aspects of building structures and materials is expected,
including the ability to translate architectural and structural drawings and
specifications into accurate drawings for fabrication and erection; and
(2) Working knowledge of the log and timber industry is required, successful
completion of several log and timber courses is preferred and willingness to
continuously upgrade is a must.

Others:
(1) Must supply work portfolio and references;
(2) Must possess a valid Driver’s license in the province(s) employed; and
(3) Must be able to work on a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and
travelling.
