Mini Job Fair

Are you a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen or Refugee who are currently looking for jobs with good pay and steady hours? Warehouse industry is growing and need people! Come check out our FREE Mini-Job fair (for warehouse and related industries).

The Mini Job Fair is on June 23 Thursday 3-5 pm at our Richmond office (110- 6651 Elmbridge Way) with a few local employers (i.e. Amazon, Canadian Tire etc.) who are ready to hire. Please come check it out, network and drop off some resumes. You may also get an opportunity to get interviewed on the spot. We want to create a small sized event to ensure an opportunity and space for individual conversations. Moreover, we also have employment counsellors available for drop-ins for multi-barriered clients to review your resumes.

What jobs are available? Canadian Tire (Ironwood, Richmond) are hiring positions such as sales associate for the hardware department, sports department and automotive parts department; and both a picker and stock personnel for the warehouse and a cashier/customer service associate. Amazon is hiring for various part time and full time positions such as Sortation Associate, Delivery Station Associate and other general warehouse worker in New West, Tsawwassen, Delta, Burnaby, Richmond, Langley, Pitt Meadows and Surrey. Heart HR, a temporary agency is hiring various positions such as production worker and warehouse associate for various companies such as Lowriders (auto-parts warehouse). Uni express is hiring for bilingual (English and Mandarin)Driver Admin Assistant, warehouse associate, and Quality Specialist positions.

Currently we have a few FREE employment programs including WarehouseAbilities and Skills for Life and Work program that help people with barriers to increase their skills; get and keep a job.

Skills for Life & Work: 6-week cohort-based training that is designed to support persons with multiple barriers to employment. We will provide participants with: Employment Counselling, Job Readiness Skills, Essential Skills Training, Occupational Skills Training, Technology support for those who qualify and $100 Training Completion Bonus for those who complete the 6 weeks of training with us; and Job Coaching & Job Placement support for up to three months after the training. WarehouseAbilities – Training for Persons with Disabilities (combination of virtual and in-person delivery). We have partnered with Universal Learning Institute to provide a 9-week training program designed to address employment barriers faced by Persons with Disabilities. WarehouseAbilities is tailored to industry needs, with skills training and supports that prepare individuals for sustainable employment in the high-demand warehousing sector. We offer job readiness skills training, Fundamental Warehouse Operations training through Universal Learning Institute, Hands-on work simulation activities in a real-life warehouse setting, Certifications in WHMIS, Occupational First Aid, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Forklift Operator, Scissor/Boom Lift, and Fall Protection, Work experience opportunities, job search and job coach supports; Technology support for those who qualify; and $150 Training Completion Bonus for those who complete the 9 weeks of training.
