Salary: CAD52,000 per year

When children are involved in outdoor activities, they are happier, healthier and smarter. Over the ten years, Vancouver Outdoor Society (VOS) has strived to nourish children growth with outdoor adventures. To respond to the desires of families and participants, the Society designs a wide variety of outdoor activities that incorporate VOS big 5 character traits (Honesty, Leadership, Trust, Courage, Patience) into the program, helping participants to discover and develop “self” through challenges and outdoor adventures. The VOS outdoor adventure, cultural exploration and educational philosophy offer youth a chance to learn beyond just how to have fun in the outdoors and the skills to live and travel in the wilderness. Working closely with parents to harness the power of program experience to influence the lives of their children, the Society aims to build character for the youth and foster resilient leaders for the future.

Job duties

• Plan, direct and evaluate the existing programs of the organization and promote overall sales revenue;
• Conduct market research, customer survey to explore market potentials and customer demand;
• Lead the customer service system and respond to customer inquiries, requests and issues;
• Develop and implement marketing and promotion champions;
• Develop business partnerships and market strategies;
• Determine new program offerings and implement price policies;
• Manage other staff and assign duties;

Requirements:

• Diploma in business management or administration, finance, accounting, marketing, or related field.
• Proven experience working as a business development officer or similar role.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to travel as needed.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
• Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong business acumen. excellent management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented.
