Accounting Associate Job Description

We are looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the successful Accounting Associate, candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. The Accounting Associate must be comfortable with computers, office tasks, and in this position, it is essential that the successful candidate excels at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, the Accounting Associate should have a genuine desire to work with others and help problem solve.

Accounting Associate Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a polite and professional communication in person or via phone, e-mail, and mail.
• Scanning and uploading all physical invoices into the accounting software system.
• Coding invoices accurately into the accounting software systems (Xero), ensuring attention to detail with respect to coding of departments and expense categories.
• Post and reconcile vendor's monthly statement, credit card transactions and expenses reimbursements.
• Has a general understanding of accounting principles.
• Has a positive attitude and is eager to learn.
• Is adept to cloud-based accounting software platforms such as Xero, Approval Max and Hubdoc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Accounting Associate Requirements:

• At least 1 year accounting experience.
• Diploma/Degree in accounting preferred.
• Experienced with XERO or other cloud software preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Attention to detail as well as Problem-solving.
