Aurora Scientific Corp., a business provider of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) vacuum coating service and equipment, is looking for candidates to fill a full-time Technician Assistant position. The experienced and enthusiastic team player will join our expanding production team to assist in innovative solutions. Candidate should also enjoy technical challenges, appreciate interacting with people and provide exceptional customer services, and communicate effectively with supporting engineering groups. Pay is negotiable based on experience and education.

Salary:             CAD $18 up / hour based on experience

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist engineers and technicians for all production related tasks
• Conduct pre-coating cleaning and post-coating polishing related work
• Be able to operate wet-blaster, sand blast machine, oven, ultrasound cleaning, and PVD coating equipment
• Inspect and pack completed goods
• Maintain all shop equipment per manual and maintenance schedule in clean, safe, working order
• Complete work orders and provide exceptional service for customer's satisfaction
• Collaborate with teams of engineering and sales to understand customer requirements
• Communicate with the customers and provide technical assistance regarding coating and production as needed
• Design and complete fixture modifications as needed
• Develop and maintain strong working knowledge of the company’s products and systems
• Follow company’s standard operating procedure (SOP) and comply company’s ISO9001 quality standard for all services and products
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and concerns at the shop when needed

Requirements:

• Working experience in machine shop or labs
• Diploma in engineering, material science, electronics, or related field
• Good people and communication skills
• Self-directed. Ability to work and contribute to a positive, energetic and fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to Multi-task and Problem Solving
• Computer literacy in Microsoft tools
• Ability to work under pressure 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Valid driver’s license, the use of your own car is a bonus
