Job Summary
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Hands-on full cycle accounting and general ledger responsibilities (including journal entries, bank reconciliations, tax and WCB remittances, foreign transactions, month end accounting report preparation)
- Review and verify invoices and cheque requests
- Review and process expense reports
- Sort, code and match invoices
- Set invoices up for payment
- Enter invoices into system
- Prepare and perform cheque runs
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Provide supporting documentation for audits

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
- 3 years of working experience as an accountant
- Good knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage50 & SAP
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and organization in preparing and entering financial information
- Excellent computer skills including a strong understanding of all MS Office applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Preference given to individuals with industry experience.
- Fluent in Mandarin is an asset.
- Knowledge of accounts payable
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Knowledge of relevant accounting software
- Proficient in data entry and management
