Job Overview

- Source food ingredients, packaging materials or suppliers based on the needs and ensuring items purchased follow established policies and procedures.

- Ensure ingredients are delivered on time, in their entirety and of optimum quality.

- Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve shortages or missed deliveries, review quotations and resolve production/supplier issues as they arise.

- Maintain records including but not limited to; vendor pricing, vendor price master file control, purchase orders, price list/catalogues, supplier, and ingredient documentation.

- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions within authority or make recommendations to Purchasing/ Buying Manager.

- Train and work with receiving departments to inspect and count goods received, identify off-spec product, damages, shipping errors, etc., and work through complaints with vendors.

- Audit invoices for correct pricing or incorrect charges.

- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers / internal teams.

- Generate savings on raw materials and logistics using commodity knowledge to support business objectives.

- Ensure the quality of materials, competitive pricing, and sufficient supply at all times.

- Other projects as requested.

What we are looking for

This is a position which will require you to be on-site Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm. Hours might change from time to time and after hours work might be necessary if required due to the nature of the industry.

Essential Requirements:

- BSC in Logistics or Purchasing, or equivalent experience

- Minimum 2 years experience as a purchaser/purchasing background

- Experience with purchasing software (e.g. Business central)

- Manufacturing experience (optional)

- Analytical skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong negotiation, forecasting, advanced analytical skills and communication skills

- Understanding of supply chain procedures

- Good computer skills (MS Office Suite especially with MS Excel and ERP software)

- Fluency in English is required

- Its own transportation to work is required (location is away from public transportation).
